Days off

Days off from work are bittersweet, at least when you work at a place like the Weathervane. It's good to relax and all that, but it always makes going back that much harder. At least when you work a bunch of days in a row you get used to the monotony of cooking the same thing over and over again and having the servers unleash their frustrations at the customers on you.

Oh well, the two days I had off went pretty well. I spent a good time writing for the first time in a while, and that felt good. I milked everything I could from the other night's dream, but that barely filled a composition notebook, which means even less pages when typed. Hopefully I'll be able to think of ways to expand on it during work the next couple days when my mind is wandering.

I also got a chance to see my girlfriend Michelle, which is always great. We both work full time and haven't really been dating long enough to move in together, so we don't get to see each other very often, so I'm grateful for just about any time we get to spend together.

About Me

Jake Morrison
Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States
Last year I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in English. Since then I have been trying to devote a large amount of my time to my efforts of becoming a published writer, but unfortunately have spent a good deal of that time trying to get over a bad case of writer's block. However, most of my time is spent working at a large seafood restaurant a couple minutes away in Kittery, Maine. Recently I had a dream that inspired me to write a novel, but after writing only twenty some odd pages, I have been unable to expand anymore. I am keeping this blog to use as a dream log and will be attempting to train myself to get into the practice of lucid dreaming so that I can call back the solid narrative that I found in my dream that one night.
