Long day at work

I'm finally home after a long double shift at the Weathervane. I'm pretty exhausted so this first post is going to be a short one.

As this is my first post on this blog, I figure it only makes sense to state its purpose. Last night I overslept my alarm, which made me late to work, which is what roped me into the closing shift I've only just returned from. Fun stuff, right? Not when you're flipping shrimp in a saute pan and throwing lobsters into a steamer all day it's not. Anyways, some good has come from my sleeping in, as last night I had an amazing dream, which was almost more of a movie than a dream. Hopefully, I'll be able to use it's plot to get myself out of the rut of writers block that I've been in for quite some time now. I've got the next two days off from work, and hopefully I'll spend them writing. I'll be keeping this blog for my own personal reasons of recording my dreams and anything else that may inspire me along the way writing wise, as a sort of digital form of keeping notes. For now though, this is it, I'll have more within the next couple of days.

About Me

Jake Morrison
Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States
Last year I graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in English. Since then I have been trying to devote a large amount of my time to my efforts of becoming a published writer, but unfortunately have spent a good deal of that time trying to get over a bad case of writer's block. However, most of my time is spent working at a large seafood restaurant a couple minutes away in Kittery, Maine. Recently I had a dream that inspired me to write a novel, but after writing only twenty some odd pages, I have been unable to expand anymore. I am keeping this blog to use as a dream log and will be attempting to train myself to get into the practice of lucid dreaming so that I can call back the solid narrative that I found in my dream that one night.
